Tablecloth: Rutile, with Sceptered Quartz — NAEM, Hiddenite, Alexander County, North Carolina, USA — Original Color
This design begins with my photograph of a very fine specimen of Rutile with Sceptered Quartz from NAEM, Hiddenite, Alexander County, North Carolina, USA. By reflecting and repeating its crystal forms, I gave the image a new symmetry. Across the design, the mineral’s colors and intricate details form a pattern that still reveals the remarkable rock where it began.
