In the early 1990s, a remarkable and unexpected find of malachite pseudomorphs after azurite emerged from Seabra, Bahia, Brazil—a locality not typically known for copper minerals. These specimens caused a stir in the mineral world due to their rarity, aesthetic quality, and unusual provenance. The tie design is based on photograph of actual specimen in my collection.
