This design begins with my photograph of a very fine specimen of Calcite from Moncure, Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. This one was taken under Long wave UV light and then color inverted.
By reflecting and repeating its crystal forms, I gave the image a new symmetry. Across the design, the mineral’s colors and intricate details form a pattern that still reveals the remarkable rock where it began.
Made of high-quality polyester peach skin fabric. Lightweight, durable and could be folded away compactly. Size: 102" x 60" (259 cm x 152.4 cm).
